Arlene H. Hutson, 83, of rural Sparta, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born on May 22, 1931 to William and Hazel (Huntington) Dittman. She married Llewellyn Hutson June 15, 1949. Together they farmed for many years in the Big Creek Valley, west of Sparta. Arlene also took pride in her years of service as a day care worker at the Sparta Community Day Care. Llewellyn passed away September 30, 1993.

Arlene loved cooking and baking, reading, her dogs, bird watching, social get-togethers, and mostly, spending time with her children and family.

She is survived by her children, Allan (Sandra) Hutson, Barbara (Mel) Alsobrooks, Larry (LuAnn) Hutson; grandchildren, Alissa, David, Katie, Brad, Kristine, Dana, Desha, Steve, Jenny, Jami, Andy, Joline, Solomon; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Loren “Larry” (Amelia) Dittman, Garland (Nancy) Dittman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, William S. and Richard.

The family would like to thank the emergency care workers, Gundersen Health System care providers, and care giver and friend, Rita Meyers.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at the former Big Creek Methodist Church in rural Sparta with an old fashion ice cream social planned.
