Carol Elland, 77, passed away on January 13, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Franciscan Healthcare.

Carol was born October 2, 1939 to Lawrence and Ida Holven of Blair, Wisconsin. She graduated from Blair High School in 1958. Carol was united in marriage with Kenneth John Elland on September 2, 1961. Together they raised their two children in Greendale, WI. Carol worked in high fashion retail and always had an eye for style. When Ken retired from IBM in 1993, they moved to La Crescent, Minnesota to be near family. Carol was a gracious hostess and enjoyed entertaining guests at their bluff-side home. She immensely enjoyed her relationships with family and dear friends. Carol found joy in decorating and making their country home both cozy and eclectic. She also enjoyed music and fine wine.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lillian Olson, and her brother Donald Holven. She was survived by her husband Kenneth Elland of La Crescent, Minnesota, her son Mark (Karen) Elland of Beloit, Wisconsin, her daughter Jill (David) Henly of Stillwater, Minnesota, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of life reception until 4:00 pm at the Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska, WI. Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate.
