Gordon Stanley Tomaszewski
Gordon Stanley Tomaszewski, 71 of Winona, MN, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2014 at home. He was born on July 4th, 1942 to Stanley and Loretta Tomaszewski. He maried Carole Grochowski on September 3, 1971 in Brookings, SD.
Gordy honorable served his country as a Lieutenant for the Navy SEALS with two tours in Vietnam. He fought in battles earning several medals including a Purple Heart. He worked in manpower for the Union Pacific Railroad, and retired after 35 years of service.
He enjoyed boating and camping with his family on the Mississippi River.
Gordon is survived by his wife: Carole, daughters: Rene Pitkin, Tina Batsch, Danielle Tomaszewski, and son, Eric Tomaszewski, and his four grandsons. He was preceded in death by his father: Stanley Walter Tomaszewski, mother: Loretta Rose (Burczyk) Tomaszewski, and brother: Daniel David Tomaszewski
Thank you to all the doctors and staff of Gunderson Heath Systmes, Father Jim of St Mary’s Parish, Father Tom of Basilica of St Stanislaus Kostka, and the Winona Police department for all their efforts.
A memorial service will be held in Gordy’s honor at the Winona Lake Park Veterans Memorial on Thursday July 3, 2014 at 1:30 pm.

Mr. Tomaszewski was a great man and his extraordinary military service to our country……That’s something to be especially proud of.
Mr. & Mrs. Tomaszewski raised such a fine family and you were such great nieghbors when you lived a few doors from us as kids by the lake & even when you moved a few miles east ….letting Tina have those great 5th or 6th grade class get togethers at the new home. That made you the coolest parents. We had so much fun just being kids at your house.
