John “Mike” Atkin
John “Mike” Michael Atkin, 30, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2015 in his home. He was born March 17, 1985 to John and Cheryl (Fillner) Atkin.
Mike was an avid gamer, he also enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his friends. He loved his dog Buddie.
He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Lee Atkin of La Crosse; older brother, Christopher (Lynie) Fillner; nephew, Caleb Fillner; aunts, uncles, many cousins, and dear friend, Michael Sevallus.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Eric Atkin; maternal grandmother, Evelyn May Fillner; and paternal grandmother, Marjorie May Atkin.
The family would like to thank the La Crosse Police and Fire Departments, La Crosse Medical Examiner’s Team, and the ambulance EMT’s for the special care that was given to Mike and myself.
A small celebration of life will be held at the La Crosse American Legion Post 52 on 6 th and Market St. on July 21 st from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. A short service will be held at 1:30 pm by Pastor Charles Robinson. Luncheon will be provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
