Keith Gregory Jones

February 25, 2017 | 2 comments

Keith Gregory Jones – loving husband, father and grandfather – went to be with his Lord on February 25, 2017 at Hillview Nursing home at the age of 78.

Keith was born in Heron Lake, MN on June 11, 1938, the son of Ralph and Cecile Jones.  He lived in Lakeview, MN until 1947 when the family moved to LaCrescent, MN.  After graduating from Central High School (LaCrosse) in 1956, Keith entered the Navy, serving on the USS Investigator as a Seaman Boatswain mate and became a plank owner.  After leaving the Navy, Keith returned to LaCrescent.  In 1965 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School of Banking.  He worked at the LaCrescent State Bank where he rose to Vice President and CEO.

In 1960 Keith married Marilyn Lenox.  They have two sons, Todd and Scott.  In 1968 the family moved to Tomah where they owned and operated the Lake Tomah Lodge.  In 1985 they moved to Onalaska and built the Dairy Queen with business partners. In 1987, they moved to Phoenix, AZ.  They later returned to the LaCrosse area.

Keith and his family are owners of A.G.E. in Guyana, South America.  Keith was very active and involved in the LaCrescent Apple Festival, the LaCrescent Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club, Demolays, the Masons, St. Paul Sheiks, the Winona Knight Templar, the Winona Shrine Motorcycle Patrol, Toastmasters, the Tomah Interfaith Fellowship, Tomah Methodist Church, Tomah Assembly of God Church, Tomah Chamber of Commerce, the DeCapo Band, and Coulee Chordsmen.  He was also a co-founder of the “I-Dividers” Snowmobile Club in Tomah and was an avid Vikings fan.

Keith enjoyed life and was active in golfing, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling among other activities.  But his life changed in 1973 when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  His faith carried him through many illnesses and trials.  He had a full life here and is now with the Lord.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and her husband, Jackie and Ed Levine.  He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his two sons – Todd of Mauston and Scott (wife Nutcha) of LaCrosse – and his two grandsons, Michael and Luke, both of LaCrosse.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lyle and Glenda Anderson, two nephews and two nieces.

The family would like to thank the VA, Gundersen Health System, Hillview Health Care Center, Olivet Lutheran Church and all family and friends.

Visitation will take place at 10AM on Friday, March 3, followed by a memorial  service at 11AM, both at Olivet Lutheran Church on French Island (2100 Bainbridge).  A light lunch will be served following the memorial service.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Condolences
