Kristine Kay Wolfe (Cricket)

August 1, 2017 | 7 comments

Kristine Kay Wolfe (Cricket) age 50 passed away 5:00 AM Saturday July 29th on the 9th floor of the Mayo Hospital, La Crosse, Wisconsin.  She fought the good fight but lung cancer won out in the end.  She was surrounded by her loving family for the last 3 days of her life in the hospital.

Kristine was born to George Wolfe and Darlene (Willms) Wolfe on February 7, 1967 in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Kris was formally living in Osseo, MN for over 20 years she had recently relocated to La Crosse to be near her Mother Darlene and Sister Lisa.  She spent the last 5 months living with her mother where she received care from the Mayo Hospice staff.

Kris loved to ride her Harley, fish, bike, decorate and repurpose old furniture and housewares.  She loved dogs especially labs and she had a green thumb; could make anything grow!!!

Kris is survived by her Mother Darlene Hutchins; Sister Lisa La Crosse, Brother Jeff (Mary) Mosinee, Brother Mark, fiancée (Michelle Parker) Portage, Niece Hayley Wolfe, Portage and Nephew Elijah Wolfe, Portage.  Kris had many loving cousins and aunts and uncles that reside mostly in Wisconsin. Many of her loving friends from the Minneapolis area came to visit her to offer their love and support over the past months.

Kris was preceded in death by her Father George and her black lab Ty who was her best friend and constant companion.

Her family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Hilary Bingol, palliative care doctor Mayo, the nursing staff and doctors on the 9thfloor, Mayo.  Huge thanks to the Loving Hospice Staff, Mayo.  We will miss their smiling faces and compassionate hearts.  Thanks to Lisa and her pet therapy and service dog Sailor.   Lastly thanks to Gerbils Larry and Moe for making Kris laugh during the dark days of cancer.

Be free Cricket!  Soar in the Heavens where there is no pain; you will be forever in our Hearts!

A Christian Celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, August 8th at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, WI 54650. Phone: 608-788-2188, www.couleecremation.com.

Though I did not know you I have known Lisa for along time… if you were anything like her I bet we would have gotten along pretty good! You are in a better place now, no more suffering….

Kris & I had a lot of fun growing up. We would usually be at either her house on Hwy 19 or at our house down the road. We went to school & graduated together. Kris was a sassy lil thing and had a great heart! Even though we may not have seen much of each other after we graduated, I still considered her my friend!! I am sure she is with Lauri again and the two of them are living it up!!
My sympathy to Darlene & her family!

Darlene, Lisa, Jeff and Mark- I am so very sorry to hear that Krissy has passed away. Your loss must be felt deeply. She was a wonderful, passionate gal with a zest for life. We were good friends in high school during her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I have so many memories of the times we spent together on the cross country team, at school, at Abendroth’s chasing the ducks down for their inoculations against “new duck disease”, driving to school together (in the “Booger”- which is what we named that green 1971 Chevy Caprice Classic that I bought from your family for $125), going to Watertown and Madison to movies or the mall, hanging out at the farm or at my house, going on “double dates” with our BFs at the time Mitch G. and Al Y…. So many good times that I cannot possibly convey to you what she meant to me during those years, so long ago. I’m sorry that she and I fell out of touch with each other. I wish that we would have rekindled our relationship somehow in the years between, and I’m very sad that she is gone now. I’m so very sorry for your loss. She will be remembered fondly.

Spent Xmas with Kris a few years ago. We had so much fun. Her laugh was contagious!! Sassy and funny. Only seen her a few times over the years but our hearts are sad to know she is gone. Hugs to your family. The Yanke family sends our love

I am sorry to hear of Krissy’s passing. Tom worked with Krissy at Anderson Windows and we stayed friends after they lost their jobs there. We loved spending time with her. She was a great person and will be missed. Tom and Linda
