Lisa Marie Korb
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lisa Marie Korb, 32, of La Crosse, WI, on August 10, 2014. Lisa was born January 29, 1982 in Green Bay, WI to James and Carla Korb.
Lisa graduated from Richland Center High School in 2000. She graduated from UW La Crosse in 2007 with a degree in Health Education and Allen College in 2009 with a degree in Nursing.Lisa was a beautiful, caring, gracious, devoted, and selfless person who loved to spend time with her family, friends, and her dog Vern. She was a very compassionate nurse who cared deeply for her patients. Lisa was also passionate about playing volleyball and exercising. She enjoyed needlework and reading. Her beautiful smile and kindness will forever be imprinted in our hearts.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents James and Julie Korb and Carla and Gayle Mathews sisters Anna and Addie Korb and step-sister Shaleen Mathews and step-brother Ashley(Jillian) Mathews. She is further survived by her Grandparents, La Vern and Ruth Korb and Grandmother Henrietta Walker. In addition, she is survived by her Godmother Suzanne Gibson(Ron).
Lisa will be greatly missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends. She was preceded in death by her Uncle Jeff, Uncle Jimmy, and her cousin Todd.A private family service will be held this Saturday afternoon. Online condolences may be offered at www.couleecremation.com

I am so very sorry for your loss. Over the last few months I was lucky enough to reconnect with Lisa through Bridget’s wedding planning and celebration and she was always such a joy to visit with. She even tolerated my carrying on about how after all these years, “your dad is still my favorite teacher”. ? We were able to ride together and spend time visiting about how proud she was of her sisters, what a beautiful singing voice Julie has and how supportive her parents have been to her. Always. Rest in peace Lisa. I will surely miss you.

I can’t even begin to put into words how truly sorry I am to hear about Lisa. She was a very special part of my life and I treasure the memories we have together. I can’t think of middle school or high school without thinking of her bubbly, infectious personality and how she was loved by so many. It truly breaks my heart to know the world, and your wonderful family, has lost such an amazing person. The world is a little less whole without her.

She had the best Mom that she could possible have, and you had a beautiful, loving daughter , who will always be in your heart and all around you even when you can’t see her. Memories are Forever
Though we can no longer see them they are always in our thoughts and god lets us see them each and everyday. When the sun rises each morning it reminds us of their smile. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have thought of Lisa every time I use the Mickey Mouse cups she picked out for Mark and I so many years ago when you went to Disney land. Jim , I know you and Julie will miss her very much. She was such a wonderful child, wish I had gotten to know her as a grown up. She will always be in my memory as both of you are.

This absolutely breaks my heart. When I think of Lisa I have the cutest memory of her getting a haircut at New Waves and telling us that her mom was “boy crazy”. Out of the mouths of babes! I watched her grow on North Central Ave and then she went to college and I didn’t see her much. My heart hurts. Blessings to you.

I remember especially her sense of responsibility about Farley, the family dog. Some noon hours she would hurry home to let Farley out, because no one else was available. She was well-liked by her classmates and was an eager participant in games and activities. We watched her grow up in the same RCHS Class of 2000 as our son, Eric. Bruce got to know her well as an adult when she worked at S&S. Lisa was such a special, caring, giving person. We ache for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

He had a 3rd grade crush and I was envious of your gymnastic skills that I would never posses. It is no wonder that you became a nurse. You were always taking care of others first. I am so saddened to hear about Lisa’s death. What a wonderful, compassionate, professional and knowledgeable nurse; and beautiful, empathetic, kind person.
