Lucille Emma (Peterson) Duerkop, 93, of La Crosse, died peacefully on September 15, 2014 at Onalaska Care Center, Onalaska, WI.
Lucille was born on March 2, 1921 in Modena, WI to Carl and Hannah (Wieglie) Peterson. She attended school in Alma, Wi and married Donald Duerkop on September 14, 1938 and they farmed on the family farm in Alma. She moved to La Crosse, WI in 1973 and was employed at Metallics for many years.  She was a member of Olivet Lutheran Church on French Island.
Survivors include five sons and three daughters. Burnell of Rockland, WI. Charlene Madvig of Vista, CA. Bruce of Red Wing, MN. Danny of Camp Douglas, WI. Marylynn of La Grange, MO. David of Galesville, WI. Kevin (Lori) of Holmen, WI and Cindy of Fountain Hills, AZ. Also her companion cat Molly. Her son Gerald preceded her in death.
Lucille is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Olivet Beacon of Light Lutheran Church, 2100 Bainbride St., French Island.  Pastor Luanne Sorenson will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service at the church on Thursday.  Burial will be at Buffalo City, WI cemetery.  Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home is assisting the family
