Of La Crosse- Martha Pearl Robinson, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 15, 2010 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home in La Crosse. 

Martha Pearl Robinson, 62, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility in La Crosse. She was born January 26, 1948. She married Willie Brim on June 20, 1967 in Chicago, Ill.

 

Martha enjoyed bingo and church related functions. She was a member of Empowered Life Worship Center. She was an active member of several local organizations, including a stint as President of the American Legion Auxillary. Definitely not a stranger to the party going crowd in La Crosse. Martha was an avid follower of the blues scene and other live musical acts.

 

Martha is survived by her 2 sons, Willie and Dupree (Sharren); daughter, La-Trice (Michael); 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Also, she is survived by 3 brothers, Billy (Michelle), Tony, and John; 4 sisters, Iris (Sam), Jean (Darnell), Diana (Kenneth) and Francis (Bill) and a whole bunch of nephews and nieces and their children.

 

Martha is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy and father, Albert; 3 brothers, David, Arthur, and Eddie; and one sister, Deloris.

 

The family would like to thank Dr. Novotny, the staff at Bethany Riverside, (especially Sandy), all of Martha’s numerous friends with special thanks to Susie McCoy, Edwina “Queen” Hood, Darlene Dayton, and Pastor David Smith.

 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM by Empowered Life Worship Center at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1818 Redfield St., La Crosse. Pastor David Smith will be the celebrant. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
