Obituary

Marylu Dolbee and Karen Ann Dolbee

December 1, 2014 | 5 comments

Marylu Dolbee and Karen Ann Dolbee passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in a tragic car accident.  They were originally from Lansing Michigan, but lived for over 30 years in Onalaska Wisconsin.

Marylu (yes, one word, no middle name as she would proclaim) our Mom or Grams, as we all called her; and Karen, our sister and auntie, were two peas in a pod.  They were always side by side in their journey through life with unconditional love and loyalty to their family.  Their feisty attitudes for life will always be a guiding force in all our lives and we will miss THEM dearly.  Karen’s love will live on in all of us and in others that she never knew as Karen’s selfless ‘Gift of Life’, being an organ and tissue donor, will profoundly affect dozens and dozens of people.

Marylu and Karen were preceded in death by Lawrence Warn Dolbee, their loving husband and father and survived by their daughter and sister, Kathryn (Michael) Weeks; son and brother, Gary (Gail) Dolbee; grandchildren and nieces and nephews, Troy (Peggy) Weeks, Todd (Gretchen) Weeks, Wesley Dolbee, Megan Dolbee; and all their amazing great ‘grandkids’:  Alicia, Grace, Quentin, Olivia, Ciara, Alex, Beth, Jazi, Jada and Kendall.
Their sudden departure is devastating and the journey forward without them will be very difficult. Please join us in fulfilling their wishes, with a celebration of their lives, on Saturday December 6th, 2014 from 2-4pm at Features in Holmen Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, please consider registering to be an organ and tissue donor in honor of Karen and to your local food pantry or humane society in honor of Marylu.
“Live everyday like it is your last, don’t take crap from anyone, don’t be afraid to laugh or crack a joke; But most importantly, family first”

Condolences

Mom and Karen, this journey forward without you is so very difficult, but we, your surviving family, are all gaining strength from each other and I know that gives you peace.

Emily Dickinson said, “Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality.”

Love you both to the moon and back…always and forever…

I am so sorry for your loss. Marylu was such a classy lady. She was impeccably dressed, and I don’t think I ever saw her without her lipstick; Karen always had a hug ready, and she just made me laugh. I always looked forward to seeing them at various Apple Annie events. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I wish I could attend the celebration, but I couldn’t get out of another commitment. I am an organ donor, and I will be making a donation to the Humane Society in their names. I hope your faith provides you with comfort now and always.
