Norma “Jeannie” Wagner

Norma “Jeannie” Wagner, 79, of Trempealeau passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.   She was surrounded by members of her family.

She was born April 22, 1938 in La Crosse, to Theodore and Edith Harris.  She attended Trempealeau High School and married Irvin Wagner on April 8, 1955.

Jeannie went to school to become a nurse and started her career at St. Francis hospital in La Crosse before working her last 33 years at Marinuka Manor Nursing Home in Galesville.

Jeannie enjoyed spending time with her older sisters, playing cards, playing piano, organ, and attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events.  She was known for her kindness and compassion and for her love of her family.

She was very active in the Methodist Church as a choir director, pianist and organist.  She also accompanied solo and ensemble students for many years and taught piano lessons.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Edith Harris, her granddaughter Korene Wagner, three brothers-in-law, Les Grover, Centerville, Carroll Sacia, Galesville and Wendell Hilton, Centerville.

Jeannie is survived by her husband of 62 years Irvin, her three sons, Jeff (Beth), Waterville MN, Don (Marla), Holmen, and Mark (Nancy), Galesville.  Jeannie has five older sisters Winnie Grover, Trempealeau, Betty (Arild) Engelien, Trempealeau, Wanda Sacia, Galesville, Lois (Cletus) Casey, Ettrick, Peg Hilton, Centerville and one Sister-In-Law Irene Schuh, Durand.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Corey (Tara) Nusbaum, Le Center, MN, Heather(Paul) Eidenschink , Plainview, MN, Cody Wagner, Trempealeau, Kayla Wagner, La Crosse, Timothy, Nicholas and Alexis Wagner of Galesville.  She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Grady, Gabby, Ellie, Grace, Noah, Hadlie and many other family and friends.

There will be a visitation and funeral service at the Trempealeau Methodist Church on Saturday May 20th.  The visitation is from 1-3, with the funeral service at 3:00. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
