Sharon M. Martin, 74 of Holmen passed away February 4th, 2016 at her home after a long battle with COPD with family at her side. Sharon was born on March 10th 1941 in Norwalk, Wi to Frank and Marie (Woodliff) Winske.

Sharon was the most devoted wife, mother, grandmother anyone could imagine. She was a friend to everyone she met. Prior to retirement Sharon operated a beauty salon in Cashton, Wi, followed by managing the Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse for over 25 years. Her compassion for helping others in their time of need was an inspiration to all. She loved painting ceramics and operated a ceramic shop out of the home until her illness didn’t allow her to continue. She loved summer vacations fishing on Lake Michigan and touring the local shops and wineries. She looked forward to family time at holidays and cookouts on the deck. She loved the company of several cats and dogs over the years and enjoyed watching the many varieties of birds and squirrels at the feeders.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard, her daughter ,Debra Kay Seitz Taylor, her “favorite” son-in-law Steve Taylor, granddaughters Danielle and Alexandra, and brother Donald Winske Sr. of Matlacha, Fl.

Preceding her in death were her Mother and Father, and Step-Father John Seidel.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 9th, at 11:00 am at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 515 N. Main St., Holmen with a visitation one hour prior to mass at the church.  Father John Parr will be our celebrant with Deacon Matthew Ludick and Msgr. Del Malin concelebrating. A visitation will also be held on Monday, February 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a prayer service by Sister Bridget Donaldson at 6:30 pm at the Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Interment will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

She said don’t cry when it is over, smile because because it happened. When you believe beyond what your eyes can see, signs from Heaven show up to remind you Love never dies.
