Steven J. Mickschl

Steven J. Mickschl, 68, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 3, 1947 to Wayne and Phyllis Mickschl. He married Susan Le Jeune on November 27, 1971 in St. Pius Catholic Church in La Crosse.

Steven loved to go fishing, enjoyed gambling, and always looked forward to the yearly trip to Chetek. He loved his family dearly and was known to spoil his grand daughters.

Steven is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Tim (Jenny) Mickschl, Tracy (Jason) Gray; mother, Phyllis (Robert Witzke) Seymour; sister, Gail Peterson; mother in law, Delores (Leroy Seidel) Le Jeune; grand daughters, Jordyn, Cadie, Alyssa; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Mickschl; step father, William Seymour; brother, Wayne Mickschl Jr; father and mother in law, Ervin (Serena) Le Jeune; brother in law, Wally Peterson.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, WI with visitations from 10:00 am until the time of the service and on Tuesday, February 2 from 5:00pm until 7:00 pm also at the funeral home. Father Brian Konopa will officiate.

    My brother Steven was the best brother and son and father and grandfather and Uncle . He is my only brother and I will miss him so much . I know from experience that time does heal the heartbreak a little. But the , missing our loved ones stays with us forever . Memories make it easier in time but it never really leaves us ., you are the best brother ever and I will miss you forever . Love your sister Gail
