Vina “Arlene” Amundson, 85, of Holmen, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 21, 2015. She was born to Emil and Vina (Pischke) Stone on February 26th 1930 in Midway

Her greatest passion in life was taking care of children. She was a member of Holmen Lutheran church and a member of the Holmen legion auxiliary, and the historical society.

She is survived by her son, Terry (Jean) Amundson, daughter, Diana Hauser and her special friend Bill; grandchildren Rachael (Josh) Houser, Brent (Megan) Ustby, Chelsea (Paul) Manning, Ty Hauser, Jenna Hauser, Adam (fiancé Kathryn) Amundson, Chris Amundson and; great-grandchildren, Madison and Brayden Houser, Alexis Manning, and Braxton Ustby; sister, Gloria Breese; and brother, Clayton Stone; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; parents, and brothers.

The family would like to thank the residents and care providers and Prairie Homes and Gundersen Health System Hospice for their dedication, friendship, and help.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 6:30 pm at Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home, 133 Mason Street in Onalaska. Chaplain Allan Vrieze will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:30 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
