West Salem – William (Bill) Mandt, 56, of West Salem passed away Tuesday January 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

William Rudolph Mandt III was born December 04, 1959, in Madison, WI to William Jr and Margaret (Coffey) Mandt. He was raised in rural Sparta, WI, and attended Sparta High School.

Bill married Susan McDonald in 1981 in Stevens Point, WI. Together they had two children, William J. and Alexandra. He truly enjoyed the many travels with his family and adventures with his close friends.

Bill learned his trade from his father, and happily worked throughout his life in the business of floor installation. He took pride in his work ethic and being one of the best in his field. Mostly, Bill took time to enjoy and focus on family happiness, lasting friendships, and being a good example in his faith. He enjoyed everything outdoors, hosting great campouts, and was always up for an exciting activity. Bill took exceptional pride in being able to volunteer his time and abilities in construction projects of Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Bill is known for his big smile, great laugh, and unmatched sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; children, William J (Kaylee) Mandt and Alexandra Mandt; his brothers Paul, and Duane (Cari); his sister Mitzi Mandt ; his parents William R and Margaret; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30p on Saturday January 30, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1900 Bainbridge, LaCrosse, WI. A visitation will be held from 11:30a until the time of service.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

We wish to thank the many, many extended family members and wonderful friends for the amazing care, compassion, support, and spiritual strength offered for Bill and our family. Thank you to each and every one.

Condolences

Sue and entire Mandt family, so very sorry to read about Bill’s passing. He certainly will be missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him. It does take a great deal of spiritual strength to get through the sad times. I remember you were all there for me when Chuck was so sick and passed away. Couldn’t have done it without your prayers, hugs and concern. You are certainly in our thoughts. Thank goodness for wonderful memories when we can laugh through the tears. Bill was a wonderful example. Sincere sympathy. Lee and Janet (Lewison) Allen
