Danyelle Cox-Bey

Danyelle “Pie” Cox-Bey, 49, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She has now found her place in the Lord’s home.

Danyelle was born on February 26, 1968 in Chicago, IL. Danyelle was a loving and generous person who passed away too young. She lived her life for her children and always made sure she was close to her family and friends. Everyone who crossed her path remembers her as a strong, high-spirited and independent woman. It is safe to say that she will be missed by many and the memories of her will carry on with all of us.

She is survived by her significant partner, Frank Schwarz; loving mother, Barbara Cox-Bey; father Bruce Allen; uncles David Mitchell-Bey, Donald Cox-Bey, Ram Cox-Bey; brothers Reginald “Pone” Cox-Bey and  Charles “Rhakiem”Cox-Bey; sisters, Rhavon Cox-Bey, Kimura Cox-Bey, Sheika Cox-Bey and Dawn Cox-Bey; her four children that she adored so much, Demarion (Paula) Cox-Bey, Jalisa Cox-Bey, Alesia Cox-Bey and Omarion Cox-Bey; grandchildren, Bryanna, Amir, Jamillion, Aaliyah, Jamarion, Catalina and her newest grandchild, Ja’Mion who will be arriving this May; many nieces and nephews along with numerous other family and friends who loved her so much.

She was preceded in death by her Uncle Al and cousin “Baby” Al.

Per Danyelle’s request, there will not be a formal funeral service. Instead, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering for all family and friends to come, eat and share memories of our loved one! There will be a Celebration of Life gathering for those in La Crosse, WI and one for those in Chicago, IL. We welcome anybody who wants to come April 29th to celebrate her life, rejoice her and release butterfly’s in the air, a favorite of hers.  Please contact Frank @ 608-518-5400 or email for all the details.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the caregivers and doctors at Mayo Clinic Health System and the outpouring of support from family and friends during this time.  Danyelle would want everyone to come together and celebrate in her name and in the name of the Lord.
