Donna Marie Mlsna (Hendrickson)

LA CROSSE/YUBA – Donna Marie Mlsna (Hendrickson), 79, of La Crosse passed away peacefully Monday, July 30, 2018, at Bethany Riverside Skilled Nursing in La Crosse.

Donna was born March 24, 1939, in Richland County, WI, to Marcy (Novy) and Donald Hendrickson. She grew up and was raised in Yuba, WI., graduating from Richland Center High School in 1957. Donna was united in marriage to Ken Mlsna on Aug. 20, 1960, in Yuba, WI.

Donna and Ken lived in Madison and Lodi, WI.  Donna worked for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon retirement, Donna and Ken moved to the La Crosse area.  Donna loved baking, cooking, gardening and was an avid reader.  She was a kind, gracious and loving woman who was very giving. She was a member of St. Joseph the Workman Catholic Church in La Crosse.

Donna was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and a friend to many. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Jen) Mlsna, Matthew Mlsna/special friend, Sam, and Michelle (Shawn) Janowiak; grandchildren, Chris (Monya), Brian (Melissa), Luke, Shannon (Justyn), Bobby, Tommy, Harley, Dalton, Sam, Max, Alex; great-grandchildren, Riley, Makayla, Avery, Morgan, Berkley and Briella; a brother, Richard Levy/Karen; special cousins Joan (John) Alt and Mark Marshall; five brothers-in-laws and one sister-in-law, Bernice Mueller, Joe Fry, Cletus Mlsna, Gaylord Mlsna, Eugene (Merrianne) Mlsna and Dennis Mlsna; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; parents; sister, Darlene Moen;brothers-in-law Gerald Mlsna, LaVerne Mueller, and sisters-in-law, Chris Mlsna, Julia Fry, Sharon Mlsna, Dorothy Mlsna, Linda Mlsna.

Services are pending.  A celebration of Donna’s life is planned and will be announced for later this summer.  Private burial will be in Czech’s National Cemetery near Yuba.  Memorial donations may be made to the family.

    I can’t tell you how sad I am at Donna’s passing! She was always concerned about how WE were doing even as she was going through all her recent health challenges. She would send cards and call to check in on us and ask how things were going. She was an amazing aunt and such a thoughtful person. We feel honored to have known her. I will miss her chats…

    I am so sorry to hear of Donna,s passing. We have been sending notes back and forth but the last I heard from her was at Christmas time for which she told me she had Cancer.
    I sent her a note back but heard nothing since.
    Donna was a great friend and neighbor and she will always be in my prayers as with all
    of you. Please let me know if and when the funeral will be as I will try and make it. My prayers are with you all especially Mike and Matt . Love to all Rose

    I am sorry to hear about Donna. She was my friend in Yuba during our childhood days and for many years after as we kept in touch. She will be missed. I want to express my condolences to her family and friends. We were all fortunate to have shared her life through her kindness and compassion for others. Truly Donna was a lovely person.
