Eric Paul Thompson, of La Crosse, 40, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 6, 2010 in his home.  Eric was born on January 7, 1970 to Michael and Linda (Miedema) Thompson.

Eric loved spending time with his daughter.  He enjoyed fishing in the backwaters of the Mississippi River.  He was also active in The Sports Car Club of La Crosse.  He won numerous trophies competing in road rallies and solo events and is a past president of the club.  No one will ever forget Eric’s enthusiasm for life and his can-do spirit.  Eric, we will miss you man.
 
Eric is survived by his daughter, Delaney June Thompson of Somerset, WI; parents, Michael G. and Linda K. Thompson of La Crosse, WI; brother, Jason A. (Rebecca) Thompson of La Crosse, WI; nephews, Cole Thompson and Cameron Thompson of La Crosse, WI; uncles, Raymond Miedema of Holmen, WI, Allen Miedema of Urbandale, IA, and Jerry Thomspon of Holiday, FL; and many friends. 
 
Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Toots Thompson, and Al and June Miedema.
 
A celebration of Eric’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 4-7 PM at The Boot Hill Pub’s Dock 7 Banquet Facility at 1501 St. Andrew, La Crosse.  Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.   Coulee Region Cremation Group at www.couleecremation.com is assisting the family
