Jesse Jay Woof
Jesse Jay Woof, age 49, of Blair, WI, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2018 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born in Black River Falls on April 7, 1969. He married his soulmate and wife, Jan, December 16, 2006 in Blair.
Jesse loved and cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed reading, playing cards and games, and had a passion for motorcycles. He loved riding with his wife and buddies and having great times. He spoke fondly of the time spent working on the barges of the Mississippi and being a “River Rat”.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Jan; sons, John Woof of Eau Claire, James Woof, Chris Woof, and Skyler Henton of Blair; daughter, Shadow Henton and grandson, Xander of Blair; parents, Ron and Kristy Brown of Black River Falls, David Woof of Coquille, OR, and Emily (Dave) Van Dyke of Necedah; mother in law, Cindy Bohnenkamp of Benson, AZ; brothers, Caleb Woof of Black River Falls, Aaron (Heidi) Woof of Basom, NY, Joshua (Eve) Woof of Burnsville, MN, and John Bender of Eau Claire; sisters, Becky Woof of Leesburg, FL, Rondelynne (Doug) Risch of Alma Center, Sarah Boardman of Gays Mills, and Jennifer Wilferling. He is also survived by many close friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angel; grandparents, Mike and Opal Olson, William Woof, Dorthy LaPointe, and George Parker; aunts, Lois Woof, Kathy Kelsey, Judy Rhodes and Susan Torkelson.
A Celebration of Jesse’s life will be held on June 16, 2018 from 2 to 6 PM at the Hixton American Legion Hall at 124 N. Hoffman St., Hixton, WI.
Although I hadn’t seen Jesse for several years, I will always remember him as a big brother going back to my teen years. Jesse was a caring, fun-loving man who always put family first and will be greatly missed by so many! Sending lots of love to the family.
