Kathryn J. (Rezin) Gebhardt, age 63, of Warrens, Wisconsin passed away on June 9, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in 1954 to Donald R. Rezin and Helen K. Giesler and grew up in Warrens, graduating from Tomah Senior High School. She was married to the love of her life, Bradford D. Gebhardt, for 43 years. She started her career working at the Tomah Area School District, later went on to work for the State of Wisconsin and obtained an associate degree in Computer Networking.

Kathy was known for her beautiful smile, intuitive nature, faith in God and acts of kindness. She was very creative and innovative, and enjoyed pouring that into her many craft projects. She loved spending time with family and found great joy in the simple things in life – drinking coffee, gardening, canning, painting, sewing and tending flowers.  Her greatest passion was involving herself in the lives of her 7 grandchildren – Ethan (16), Ella (13), Sean (9), Wren (7), Kathryn (6), Charlotte (4) and Henrik (11 mos).

Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Dorothy Rezin; her father-in-law, Gordon Gebhardt; sister-in-law, Pamela Rezin; her mother and father; and most recently by her dog Rhett.

She is survived by her husband, Bradford; her daughters, Kara J. (Todd) Gebhardt-Tessman, Andrea D. (Scott) Sorenson, and Erica J. (Brian) Kalinoski; her seven grandchildren; and her cherished dog, Smokey. She is also survived by her brothers, Edward (Mickey) Rezin, James Rezin, William (Mary) Rezin, Daniel (Jane Smith) Rezin; sisters, Barbara Keele, Joan (Randy) Schleicher, and Susan Rezin; her mother-in-law, Charlotte Gebhardt; and Brad’s family. Kathy also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends who will all greatly miss her.

Special thanks to those who helped care for Kathy at the end of her life: Beth, Elizabeth and staff from Tomah Memorial Hospital’s Hospice Touch; family members, Susan, Joan, Bill and Mary, Steve and Betty; her daughters Kara, Andrea and Erica and especially, her devoted husband Brad.

A memorial service for Kathy will be held at Bible Evangelical Free Church (625 W Veterans St. Tomah, Wisconsin) on Thursday, June 14 at 2pm. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1pm until the time of service. Following the service, the family will be hosting a private celebration of life with family and close friends at Brad & Kathy’s home.

Condolences
