Kevin Clarence Hanson

Kevin Clarence Hanson, 57, of La Crosse, succumbed to cancer at Gundersen Health System surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Born in La Crosse, WI to Clarence and Joy (Logsdon) Hanson on August 7, 1960. He married his best friend JoAnn Becker on September 15, 1979 in La Crosse, WI.  

Kevin was a passionate man who loved everyone unconditionally and always put them first. He knew how to make you laugh and always have a good time. He was an avid fisherman who loved fishing in the early mornings, also loving nature’s animals ensuring he fed the ducks, birds and his squirrels.  He was also a die hard Minnesota Vikings fan. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. He worked for the La Crosse Rubber Mills from 1978 until 1996, Brickle Brothers 1996-1997, then as a Laborer in Local Union 140 until his retirement in 2015.

Kevin is survived by his wife JoAnn, daughter Carissa (Michael) Leis of Holmen, WI, son Jay (Audrey) Hanson stationed in Naples, Italy with the Navy, granddaughters Alana Leis, Chloe Hanson, brothers James (Roseann) Hanson of Columbus, OH, Ronnie (Margaret) Hanson of Silver Springs, MD, Michael (Cynthia) Hanson of La Crosse, WI, Stacey Hanson of Tomah, WI, Dana (Ann) Hanson of Apple Valley, MN, sisters Lynda (Michael) Viner of Hartford, WI, Pamela (Steven) Olson of Kendall, WI, Denise (Don) Soileau of Anchorage, AK, twin sister Karin (Brian) Craig of Bangor, WI, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Kevin was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Diane Hanson.

A special thank you to Gundersen Health System for their loving care and support and Coulee Region Cremation Group. A special celebration of life will be done with family and friends at a later date.
