LaVerne Arthur Henderson

LaVerne Arthur Henderson, 89, of Galesville WI died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home.

He was born on March 7, 1928 in Ettrick, WI to Joel and Mabel (Anderson) Henderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the North Beaver Creek Church. He attended several area elementary schools and graduated from Galesville High School in 1946. He married Ruby (Kvaalseth) on June 15,1950 at Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Church, Taylor, WI.

He was employed at the Frenchville Garage and several other jobs before being employed by W.R. Arthur Co. as a truck driver hauling new Chevrolets to several western states. In 1960 he took over the family farm where he ran a successful dairy operation. He achieved his dream of becoming a licensed private pilot with his own plane and landing strip on the farm. In 1999, he retired from farming and sold the farm.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; 3 sons, Randy (Sue), Wayne (Sheryl), and John (Holly); 6 grandchildren, Kelly (Andy) Jacobs, Blake (Dawn) Henderson, Ben (Brittany) Henderson, Sarah Henderson, Haily (Ben) Sand, and Noelle Henderson; 5 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Shauna, Eli Jacobs, Logan Henderson, Landen Henderson; brother, Larry Henderson; sister-in-law, Liz Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Forrest and Kaye.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at French Creek Lutheran Church, N23007 County Rd. T, Ettrick, WI 54627, with visitation beginning at 9 AM until the time of service. Pastor Anna Sorenson will be officiating. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
