Lois Louise Bakalars, age 82 of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2017 at Bethany Riverside Care Center in La Crosse.
She was born on August 2, 1935 to Orris and Amelia (Hanson) Severson
Lois was an avid bowler, competing in several leagues and tournaments in La Crosse and throughout Wisconsin. She loved to travel the country with her sister and friends, sight seeing and shopping, she especially enjoyed it if there happened to be a casino nearby. She was a diehard Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan and rarely missed watching or listening to games. She retired in 1999 from Norplex Oak/Isola Laminate where she had worked for 26 years. Lois was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them, she will be greatly missed.
Lois is survived by her two sons, Robert (Tammy) Bakalars of Onalaska, Thomas Bakalars of La Crosse; Five grandchildren; Shawn Sergeant, Dustin (Jeanette) Wateski, Rachel (Adam) Degenhardt, Heather (David) Korger, T.J. Bakalars, Brady Bakalars; Sister, Gloria Borgedahl of La Crosse; Brother, Robert (Mary) Severson of
Portage, WI; Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; Brother, Richard Severson; Sister, Joyce Wuensch

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 420 West Ave S. La Crosse. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate.
