Millicent Bernice Weber “Tolly”

February 16, 2018

Millicent Bernice Weber “Tolly” (Tollefson) 99 years young, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2018. She was born in Rushford, MN on March 6, 1918, and moved to La Crosse, WI when she was 5 yrs old.

Preceded in death by parents Elmer and Bernice Tollefson, brother Robert Tollefson, and husband of over 50 years, Kenneth Weber. She is survived by children, Kathy (Bill) Haller, Mike(Jeannie) Weber, Pat(Mike) Meyer; 13 grand children; 25 great grand children; 2 nephews and 1 niece.

Following high school at Central, Tolly attended nursing school in Milwaukee, and moved to Chicago in the early 1940’s, where she worked for the US government. Tolly and Ken were married on Aug. 30, 1943 in New Jersey, and returned to La Crosse in 1946. Tolly was a full time loving mother and home maker, raising her 3 children, and enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, and helping others. Always a passionate Packer fan, she also enjoyed watching golf, tennis, college basketball, and, of course, poker. She spent most of her later years following the lives of her children, grand children, great grand children, and making sure they knew how much they were loved, and giving her wise advice and thoughts.

Her family would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to her long-time neighbors who were always so tremendously helpful and caring, and to the staff of Eagle Crest South, where she spent her last 2 years. The loving and knowledgeable care she received will always be deeply appreciated.

In keeping with her wishes, a celebration of life, will be held later in the spring.

She was the matriarch of our family, and is greatly missed.

Condolences
