Robert W. Hartley
Robert W. Hartley, 87, of La Crosse died on Sunday Nov. 12, 2017 at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born on August 26, 1930, in La Crosse, to Hiram and Hulda (Opperud) Hartley.
He married Donna Mae (Hanson) Hartley on Dec. 4,1954. Robert grew up in La Crosse and at 18 joined the Army. He served during the Korean war from 1948-1951. Through out his years he had many jobs including: construction doing sheet metal, owned Bob’s Heating doing installs and repairs, and also cleaning and maintenance work. He was quite the handyman and had a tool to fit any job. He enjoyed watching his Packers, boxing and caring for his dog Teddy.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Rod) Smith of La Crosse; sons, Ron Hanson of Onalaska, Wis., Dan Hartley of La Crosse and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Hartley; his son, Delvin Hartley; a daughter in-law, Patricia Hanson; sisters, Vivian Hall and Phyllis Rybold and brothers, Gordon and Ralph Hartley.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 20, at the Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, Wis. Chaplin Jeff Thomson will officiate. Friends may visit at 12:00 until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
