Barbara Ann Stokke, 57, of La Crosse, died peacefully on March 26, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse with her family by her side. She was born on June 24, 1959 to Ralph and Charlotte Stokke.

Barb never married or had children but had a love for animals and shared her life with many. She was born and raised on Brice Prairie and was known as a prairie dog.

Barb enjoyed boating, camping, softball, birthdays and holiday get togethers, cocktails with friends and music. She was an outstanding athlete and was a member of the first ever girls basketball team at Holmen High School. Barb was also known to leave lengthy messages on your phone that would fill up your voicemail. She worked for many years at the G. Heileman Brewing Company in La Crosse.

Barb is survived by her sisters, Tammie (Dan) Feuerhelm of Holmen, Diane Jungbluth of Hokah; brother, Ron (Kelly) Stokke of Holmen; and her special nephews, Cory, Michael, and Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the Family & Children’s Center in La Crosse for their care over the years, and the critical care center staff at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. A special thank you to devoted friend, Roger Spaulding who helped her weekly and was always by her side and became a dear family member.

A celebration of Barb’s life will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Street in Onalaska.
