Betty Mae Yocum, 90, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Bethany Riverside in La Crosse.

Betty Mae was born in St. Paul, MN to Arthur and Wilma Wagner on April 9, 1924. She graduated from Sibley High School in St. Paul, MN in June of 1942. She married John (Jack) Curtis Yocum on September 9, 1948.  In 1957, they moved to Miami, Florida with their two daughters Sandra and Jacqueline. Betty spent the next 55 years of her life in Florida. She loved being active in her community and church and was very dedicated to both throughout her life.  Betty was an extremely accomplished seamstress and knitter.  She also loved to golf and garden. In her later years she loved dancing with her good friend Ralph Gallo. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Castaldi (husband Phil) and Jacqueline Proper (husband Dean); grandchildren, Lauren Akhavan (Mohammadreza), Heather Fortuine (Andrew), Phil Castaldi (Brandi), Leanna Duerst (Kory), Sarah Harter (Miles); great-grandchildren Gavin Castaldi, Elliot and Anna Fortuine, Mia Harter; and dear friend, Ralph Gallo.

She was a very gracious and kind woman and will be greatly missed.
