Dale Lee Herrmann

Dale Lee Herrmann, 65, of Onalaska, formerly of Waukon, IA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born on September 13, 1949 to Arthur and Vila Herrmann. He married Debra Teff on November 25, 1972 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Dorchester, IA.

Dale served his country in the US Army from 1969 until 1971 and was a Vietnam veteran. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and other medals of honor. We think of Dale as a quiet hero.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to auctions. He loved his pug, Rose. Most of all Dale loved spending time with his family, especially his grand sons, Daylan and Hudson.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters, Lisa, Katie (Jason) Herman; grand sons, Daylan Page, Hudson Lee Harlan; sister, JoAnn (Brian) Winkie; sister in law, Laurie Hoisington; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Curtis Mathis, Dean Herrmann, sister, Ferlene Herrmann, and grand pugs, Woody, Sully.

The family would like to thank the Dialysis unit at Mayo Clinic Health System in Decorah, IA and Onalaska, WI, and the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate.

Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home is assisting the family.
