David Eugene Traver, age 67 of Holmen, WI passed away peacefully on November 30, 2016. He was born on March 12, 1949 to Duane and Dorothy (Meyer) Traver.  He was married to Heidemarie Stowell on August 20th, 2005 in Holmen.

Dave is survived by the love of his life, his wife Heide.  He is also survived by his Mother Dorothy Farner and Stepfather Dr. Robert Farner of Toluca, IL.  Three daughters also survive.   Amy (Shane) Craven of Myrtle Beach, SC; Heather (Bill) Larson of Rolling Meadows, IL  and Ashley Traver of West Des Moines, IA.  Dave also has 4 grandchildren, Austin, Grace, Julia and Rhett, and one great-grandson, Gage.  Dave is survived by two brothers and two sister-in-laws Mike and Sandy Traver of Florence, CO and Tim and Jane Traver of La Quinta, CA.  Dave also his survived by 3 stepbrothers Dr. Robert Farner of Spokane, WA, David and Wendy Farner of Texas and Charlie and Colette Farner of Bloomington, IL.  He was preceded in death by his Father Duane Traver.

Dave was very actively involved in his church Gift of Grace Lutheran of Holmen.  He held several positions on the Church Council over the years including Stewardship, Vice President and President.  Dave was a sales representative most of his career, working with agriculture related companies.  He found the people in agriculture to be the most down to earth, straight forward people.  He enjoyed humor and usually had a joke or two to tell.  He and Heide’s favorite thing to do was to entertain.  Hardly a couple of weeks went by without having a group of people at their home.  Dave cooked a lot but something smoked on the smoker was his specialty.  Pizza on the grill was also a favorite.

The family wants to thank Franciscan Skemp Hospice and all the doctors and nurses who provided care over the last two years.  Also, a big thank you for the many kindnesses shown by friends and family during this struggle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at Olivet Lutheran Church on Monday, December 5th at 11am, with visitation 2 hours before the service.  A luncheon will follow the service.

A second memorial and burial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7th at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toluca, IL, with visitation 2 hours before the service, and luncheon to follow.

Condolences
