David “Red” Robinson
David “Red” Robinson, 70, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2015 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the Moose Lodge in La Crosse. A full obituary will follow. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

I was so surprised, and sorry, to read this. Dave and I were teenage friends, hung together a lot, and used to go camping out on Prairie Island. Not at the approved places, we little rebels would just go off deeper by ourselves someplace, and build our fire and roast our wienies, and if we had found something worthwhile to drink, we drank it and sat around the fire and cackled and had fun like the couple of little goofballs we were.
Then life beckoned, and we went different ways. But then, we both ended up in La Crosse! I wish I had known, we could surely have had some great times together lately. I know he’d have let me drive his Zimmer.
All my condolences to the family, and compliments to whoever wrote the obituary. It sounds like my friend built himself a very fine life.
I missed that good guy over the years, and I’m still missing him now.
