Ellen Cherie Valentine
Ellen Cherie Valentine, 68, of La Crosse, died peacefully on January 6, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born on August 31, 1948 to Wilbur and Norma Neary. She married Richard Valentine on February 21, 1970 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in La Crosse.
Ellen loved to cook and bake for not only her family but everyone she knew. She enjoyed shopping and trips to the nail salon. Ellen loved to make others happy by being truly selfless. She liked to share pictures of her creations on Facebook. Most of all Ellen lived for her grandkids.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Rick; children, Todd, Thomas (Bria), Teri; siblings, Robert (Sue), Juanita, Thomas (Heidi), Theodore (Carol), Norman, Cecelia (Rick); 9 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tim; brother, William; grandson, Avery; and nephew, Michael.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gundersen Health System for their compassionate care, and the staff at the Onalaska Walmart, for helping out in a time of need.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St. Onalaska. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until the time of the service. Chaplain Jeff Thomson will officiate.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hillbilly’s Bar, 1322 La Crescent Street, La Crosse.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
