Lyla (Vonnie) Vonndelle Pataska, 69, of La Crosse passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11 from a battle with cancer. She was born on June 14, 1945 to Lyle and Violet Aarhus in Iowa. She married Ronald Pataska on September 10, 1972 in Bayport, Minnesota.

Lyla enjoyed bird watching and feeding her squirrels. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She also had a special love for her Pomeranians.

She is survived by her children, Russ Aarhus, Dean Block, Brian (Stephanie) Pataska, Joe Pataska, and Lori Masterson; special friend Roger Gerbig and children; and all of her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and special friend Lyla Gerbig.

The family would like to thank Gundersen Health System Hospice, Stephanie Pataska for keeping her spirits high, and everyone who showed their love through Lyla’s battle with cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 14 at 12 pm at Coulee Region Cremation Group at 133 Mason St, Onalaska, WI. with a visitation one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
