Orris M. Hanson

October 30, 2014

Orris M. Hanson, 77, of Holmen WI, passed away peacefully at Onalaska Care Center on October 25th.

He was born to Olaf and Mabel (Olson) Hanson on December 30, 1936.  After graduating from Onalaska High School in 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea.  He moved to Kenosha and worked at American Motors for 8 years and then was employed by U.S. Post Office until his retirement in 1992.  He and his wife moved back to the beautiful Coulee Region to be near family and friends.

Orris enjoyed golfing, playing cards, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, and visiting with family and friends.  He never met anyone he didn’t like.

Orris married his soulmate, Sandy Spah, on September 30th, 1960.  He is survived by his wife Sandy, 2 daughters: Brenda (Bill) Barber of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rhonda (John)Clements, of Holmen; 4 grandchildren: Shannon, Roxanne, J.J. and Nick; and 5 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by 1 sister and 2 brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, and 2 brothers.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:30 AM at The Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska.  Fr. Larry Berger will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the service at the Funeral Home on Thursday.
