​​Marla Jean (Nasseth) Nagel

​​Marla Jean (Nasseth) Nagel, 71 from Eastman, WI passed away on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 after a long fight due to complications with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She was under the excellent care of Prairie Maison Nursing Home in Prairie du Chien, WI at the time of her passing. 

She was born July 26,1950 to Leland and Joan Nasseth at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. She grew up in Victory and rural DeSoto, WI on a farm, along with her younger brother, Jon Nasseth. She graduated from Desoto High School in 1968. She was active in the marching band playing the clarinet all through middle and high school. She also loved volleyball. She worked for the Vernon Telephone Company as an operator after high school. She married Robert Bishop on April 24, 1971 and had two children, Tricia and Aaron Bishop, primarily residing in Eastman and Ferryville, WI.  She later married David Nagel, July 26, 1997, residing in Eastman, WI. They had a daughter, Krystle. Marla worked as a waitress and bartender throughout the years and later at Walmart in Prairie du Chien, WI. She was active with the Eastman and Prairie du Chien American Legion posts. She enjoyed knitting, reading, collecting various knick knacks and would be the first to cook up a big meal or a dish to pass at any family or community event. She cared for and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. 

Marla is survived by her brother, Jon Nasseth of DeSoto, WI, daughter, Tricia Bishop of Eau Claire, WI, son, Aaron Bishop (Rachel Bishop) of Chaseburg, WI and daughter, Krystle Nagel-Rose (Tyler Rose) of Prairie Du Chien, WI, stepdaughter, JoEllen Nagel of Monona, IA, stepson, Steve Nagel of Prairie du Chien, WI, grandchildren, Alexx Bishop, Amelia Bishop, David Nagel, Kayden Otte, Bailey Otte, Lauren Otte, Allison Rose and Clayton Rose, nieces, Lisa Berra (Chad Berra) Michelle, Mallorie and Trevor of Genoa, WI and Thea Fronk (Matt Fronk) Jake, Alli and Austin of Hillsboro, WI. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Nagel, father, Leland Nasseth, mother, Joan Nasseth and sister-in-law, Pam Nasseth.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Salem United Methodist Church in Eastman, WI on Saturday, January 8th. A visitation will begin at 10:30 am with a service at 11am officiated by Pastor Maria Kim. Lunch will follow the service. A memorial fund has been established at People’s State Bank 103 N. Main St. Eastman, WI in her name. Donations to the memorial fund are encouraged in lieu of flowers or other gifts. A special thank you and deepest gratitude to all medical and other staff, along with her friends at Prairie Maison for the wonderful care and company provided during her stay.
