Obituary
Jeffrey T. Cooper
Jeffrey T. Cooper, 62 of LaCrosse, WI, passed suddenly into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 13th, 2025. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage and faith in the Lord. Jeff left an incredible mark on everyone who was blessed to meet him. His bright smile and unmistakable laugh drew people in almost immediately.
Jeff led an interesting life, full of blessings and trials. He was born in Richland Center to Frank L. & Mary E. Cooper, the youngest of 6 children. After graduating high school, Jeff moved to Milwaukee where he met and married the love of his life, Kristi. After a time, they moved back to Richland Center, where they raised their 2 daughters, Andrea and Jennifer. He worked as a mechanic for many years and could be seen (and heard) singing, dancing, and laughing while he worked. He loved his church family and was known as a second dad to many kids and young adults.
After a severe injury at work, Jeff struggled for a time, battling addiction and alcoholism and the loss of close relationships. And while it was a hard part of his story, he believed hard stories were where the Lord shined the brightest. He loved sharing his testimony and the miraculous grace and love of the Lord in his life. In his latter years, with the help of the Lord and the support of his AA brothers and sisters, he became sober, fully surrendering all aspects of his life back to the Lord. He reconciled many relationships that had been broken because of life choices, most significantly with his ex-wife and daughters. It was a beautiful and restorative piece of his testimony.
Jeff is survived by the love of his life, Kristi, daughters Andrea and Jennifer, granddaughters Sophie-Ann, Liliana, McKenna, and Joleen, brother Guy, sister Linda, and loads of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Mary, sister Cheryl, brother Allen, and niece Beth.
Jeff has asked that his friends and family celebrate his life and his passing because, in his words, “he has finally come home”. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14, 2025 at 11 am at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service. Jeff’s celebration is trusted to Coulee Region Cremation Group. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred
