September 5, 2025 | 3 comments

James “Jamie” Richard Heath, age 21, of Holmen, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 2, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Jamie was born on January 23, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, to Gregory and Heather Heath. He grew up in Holmen with his siblings, sister Johanna Heath and brothers Jacksen Heath and Gunner Arttus. He was deeply cherished by his family, who often called him “Bubba.”

Despite being nonverbal and facing many medical challenges, Jamie expressed himself through his eyes, which lit up when he was surrounded by family and friends. He endured countless hospitalizations with perseverance and strength. Jamie was blessed with a loving and supportive family as well as dedicated nurses who helped ensure he was always cared for with kindness and dignity.

He attended Holmen School District from kindergarten through twelfth grade, graduating with the Class of 2022. Jamie loved traveling with his family, creating memories in places such as Disney World, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Destin, and Panama City Beach. He especially enjoyed cirque du soleil shows, feeling the ocean in a wheelchair made accessible for him, and most of all, an unforgettable RV trip with his family across the western United States. Arizona was among his favorite destinations.

Jamie is survived by his parents Gregory and Heather Heath; his sister Johanna Heath; his brothers, Jacksen Heath and Gunner Arttus, all of Holmen; his grandmother, Elaine Cokinos of Onalaska; his grandparents, Tom and Sherrie Pernu of Galesville; his uncle and aunt, Hank and Scarlett Pernu, of Winona, Minnesota; his cousin, Private Aiden Banks, an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division, stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Larry Heath, his beloved childhood dog, Bentley Heath, and his dog Page.

A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Myrick Park, The Nature Place, in the Marshview Room, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with a traditional meal offering to follow. A gathering will continue from 9:30–11:30 p.m. at Neuie’s Vogue.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Though he did not walk the sand as others, Jamie’s spirit will forever remain with those who loved him.
