Marc Owen Halverson

Marc Owen Halverson, 66, of Holmen, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Marc—better known to his friends as “Hack”—was born on March 11, 1959, to Merton and Maxine (Cain) Halverson. He graduated from Holmen High School in 1977 and soon began working at Kwik Trip, where he proudly became their very first truck driver. His passion for the open road led him to purchase his own semi and begin a lifelong journey across America. Many of those miles were shared with his kids, grandkids, and nephew Dan, making memories from the driver’s seat. After surviving a major heart attack, Marc came off the road in 2017 and found his second family at Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations.
On June 21, 1980, Marc married Linda Kessler. Though they later divorced, they remained the very best of friends and lifelong partners in co-parenting, hosting birthdays and holidays together for their family throughout his life.
Marc was truly one of a kind. A man with a heart of gold, he was always willing to lend a hand—whether fixing something as a mechanic, stepping up during an emergency, or tackling a project no one else could quite figure out; in his own words, “All you had to do was ask.” A jack of all trades and master of more than a few, Marc also had the gift of making life a little easier, a little lighter, and a whole lot funnier.
When he wasn’t on the road, Marc could often be found on his Harley. This past July, he set out on his final adventure—a weeklong “Trip to Nowhere.” He cruised through Superior, WI, and Grand Forks, ND, ending in Sleepy Eye, MN before heading back home. The trip was perfectly him—free, adventurous, and done entirely on his own terms.
Above all, Marc was a family man. He treasured every tradition with his kids and grandkids—fall trips to the pumpkin patch, cheering at hockey games, and Sunday morning breakfasts. Those simple, joy-filled moments meant the most to him, and the memories he created will be carried on by those who loved him most.
Marc is survived by his children Jennifer and Justin; his brother Mitchell, his sister-in-law Harla; nephews Dan (Letty) and Jacob; nieces Lori, Holly (Mario), and Anne (Matt); grandchildren Bailey (Taylor), Conner (Hannah), Ayden, Madalynn, Rylan, and Kaysen; and his bonus great-grandchildren Brooke and Benny.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Christopher, Gary, and Rick; sister Shirley; and his beloved four-legged daughter and trucking companion, Sarah.
Marc will be deeply missed, but his laughter, love, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 10-4-2025, from 12 – 4:00pm at Holland Town Hall, W7937 County Road MH, Holmen, WI 54636.  Family, friends, and coworkers are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor Marc’s life.
In keeping with Marc’s spirit of generosity and laughter, casual attire is welcome—Harley shirts and denim are encouraged.
The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Flowers are welcome, and memorials will be directed to a trust for Marc’s grandchildren, carrying on his legacy of love and devotion.
