Larry E. Whitewater
Larry Edward Whitewater, 61, of Burr Oak, Wis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in La Crosse, Wis. He was born February 13, 1952 to Raymond and Alice (Pratt) Whitewater. He married Kathleen “Kate” Barrett.
Larry loved to fish, hunt, camp, shoot trap, and play cards. He enjoyed competitive fun on his playstation. He served in the military from 1969 to 1972 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He cherished time with family and friends and especially enjoyed times with nieces and nephews.
Larry was always able to make you laugh and smile. His senses of humor and love of nature was a special gift.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen “Kate”; cats, Charley and Max; 3 sisters, Vicki (Dave) Johnson, Tina (Mike) Danielski, Nancy (Rob) Johnston; brother, Jerry (Sue) Whitewater; mother-in-law, Charlene Barrett; brothers-in-law, Ken Barrett Jr, Jim (Denise) Barrett; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ken and Kevin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alice Whitewater; father-in-law, Ken Barrett Sr.; special pet pals, Norm and Smokey.
The family would like to thank the Ho-Chunk Nation, Farmington First Responders, Hospice and Paliative Care at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, and the Homer Hall French Island American Legion.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Homer Hall French Island American Legion Post 417, 700 Fisherman Rd., French Island, Wis. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
My condolences to the family. Although we lost contact many years ago, he was someone I liked and respected.
