Jeffrey Lee Fema

Jeffrey Lee Fema, 56, of La Crosse lost his battle with cancer on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.
Jeffrey was born April 29, 1957, to Thelma “Liz” Schull and William E. Fema.
Upon graduating from La Crosse Logan High School in 1975 he entered the US Navy where he served in many locations both home and overseas. Jeff retired from the navy and settled back in La Crosse.
Jeff married Rita Gassen on April 11, 1981.
Jeff was a giving person, he volunteered may years in the kitchen at the Salvation Army where he was known as Chef Jeff. He obtained a degree from WTC with high honors in food preparation. Jeff was also a member of the La Crosse VFW. His favorite song was “Believe it or Not”.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Fema of AR; grandson, Isaiah Fema of AR; sister, Diane Fema of Fort Collins, CO; nephew Matt Mosher of Fort Collins, CO; long time best friend, Bill Huiss of La Crosse, WI, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Renee; brothers, Bill and Joe.
Jeff, may you sail on your favorite ship and sleep with the angels in Heaven.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1 from 3pm – 6pm with at the La Crosse VFW Hall with military honors at 6 pm. A military burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

    We severed Naval Station DL DR Barracks as Master at Arms For three years. I enjoyed our friendship and our service to our country. You will be missed
