Cecil Clarence Miller

Cecil Clarence Miller, 83, of La Crosse died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Gundersen Health System from complications from a fall on Wednesday, July 17. He was born on November 6, 1929 to Cecil & Esther (Risberg) Miller. He married Janice Campfield on November 8, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse.
He served in the Army MP during the Korean War from 1948 – 1952. His career was in refrigeration and A/C and then teaching the craft at Western Technical College.
His interests included hunting, watching Nascar racing, golfing..pretty much any sport really…he was a great marksman at shooting trap also. Later in life after losing a majority of his eyesight, he enjoyed listening to books on tape. He loved to sit outdoors and listen to life around him.
He is survived by his wife Janice of 61 years, sons Paul and Tracy (Liza) Miller, and daughter Amy (Steve) Severson. Grandchildren include Travis, TJ, Carly, Anthony and Taylor and a great granddaughter Hayleigh.
He was preceded in death by two daughters Mary and Susan.
Thank you to all the staff at Gundersen Health System on 6 West and CCU who assisted in Cecil’s care.
Services will be on Wednesday, July 31 at Coulee Region Cremation Group at 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 3 – 5 with a memorial service at 5. Lunch will be provided after.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

    Cecil and I were very close friends. In fact most of the time he either
    slept at our house or vice versus.
    we had a lot of good times together and I also always enjoyed his
    Dads company. I did not know his Mother so much but always heard
    she was a fine lady.
    While Cecil and I were in the Army his Dad came to visit us and that
    meant a lot to me.
    Cecil will be missed but he will always be in my memories
