Frank Znidarsich, 62, of La Crosse and formerly Kankakee, IL, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, June 23, 2011 in his home.

He was born on August 23, 1948 to Frank and Emma (Yanesh) Znidarsich.

Frank was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bradley IL. Frank was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council 839. Frank enjoyed the library; golf and tennis as a youth instructor and accomplished player; outdoor activities; music; working with Habitat for Humanity; homeopathic medicine; friends; and family. Life was sacred for Frank and he contributed much time, talent, and treasure to it.

He is survived by his brother, Raymond (Rebecca) Znidarsich and their daughter, Ami (Ryan) O’Toole; and brother, Joseph (Teresa) Znidarsich and their children, Joe Znidarsich, Becca (Ben) Pfaff and their daughter Emma, Jake Znidarsich, and Tim Znidarsich. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerard Znidarsich. 

The family is extremely grateful to the Mayo Health System Hospice Team, especially Sara Bader and Sue Fletcher; the caregivers at the cancer center; Susan Newman; Western Wisconsin Cares; friends; and neighbors. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Mayo Health System Hospice Center or the Smile Train.  

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston St., La Crosse. The Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate with interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Monday, June 27 from 4-7 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM at Mary Mother of the Church and one hour prior to the mass at the church on Tuesday. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family
