John Edward Yeager
John Edward Yeager, 64, of Onalaska, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 5, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 29, 1949 to Bernard and Virginia (Grabarkiewicz) Yeager. He married Joan Knopf October 1991.
John joined the US Army the day after he turned 18 years old to serve in Vietnam. He was a veteran of over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. His family’s land was very important to him as well as time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; Matthew (Molly Greener) Yeager, Jacob Yeager, Joseph (Margarita) Yeager, Michelle Yeager; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pat (Linda) Yeager, Mike (Shirley) Yeager, Sue (Tom) Ramey; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Elizabeth.
The family would like to thank all of the care providers that helped John and especially Dr. Hillary Bingol.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 5:00 pm at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska, WI. The Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the service at the funeral home.
Joan and family, I am so sorry to hear about John, I had no idea he was sick, I just talked to Joan and laughed so hard, like old times, I will be thinking of you and the boys at this time of loss for you.
