William “Bomber” Stockers
Of La Crosse- William “Bomber” Arthur Stockers, 70, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in his home. He was born May 14, 1944 to Arthur and Mavis Stockers in La Crosse. He married Susan Morehouse September 14, 1968.
He graduated from Logan High School where he participated in gymnastics and then enlisted in the US Navy. He taught at the Naval Reserve Center. He worked at Trane Company in La Crosse for over 40 years. Bomber was a Jack-of-all trades, the Green Bay Packers, and especially loved his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; children, USCGA Troy Stockers, Laura (Brad) Johnson, grandchildren, Amber (Eric Schmidt) Johnson, Ashley Johnson; sister, Judith Priester; aunt, Dorothy Stockers; cousins, Gary (Linda) Stockers, Sue (Larry) Trulson; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and uncle, Clarence Stockers.
The family would like to thank the Town of Campbell and La Crosse County police officers, Chaplain David Kim and their neighbors for helping during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11:30 AM with a visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Chaplain David Kim will officiate. Interment will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse. Military Honors will be provided by the Onalaska American Legion Post 336.
