Our mother, Elizabeth (Betty) J. Hass, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014, surrounded by her family, at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse.  She was born in Onalaska on December 23, 1930 to Benjamin and Bessie Mason.  She married Gerald Hass in October 1949.  They had six children, Bridget (Michael) Butterfield, Tim Hass and friend Kaye, Susan Gehrke, Sherri (Gordie) Schroeder, Brenda Hass and friend Jeff, and Karen Hoyt Hass; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Mason of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; great granddaughter Kaelyn Coles; 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Our mother enjoyed visiting with her many friends, she was a member of Apostolic Church, and also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.  It was a special joy for her to go to bingo with her son Tim.  When we would tell Mom “Love you” she would always respond, “Love you more”.  May the Lord bless you always.

The family would like to send special thanks to all of the staff at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse for all of their tender loving care, it was truly a blessing at this difficult time, you are truly angels.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Moose Lodge, 1932 Ward Ave. La Crosse.  Please bring your favorite memory to share.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
