Wendell Guy Hilton, 83, of Trempealeau, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2014, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.  He was born on April 25, 1931 to Price and Edith Hilton.  He married Peggy Ann Harris  on June 16, 1951 at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville.

Wendell was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was an elder, a deacon, a 70 year choir member, and a charter member of Robyn’s Gospel Choir.  He was also a charter member of the Trempealeau Lion’s and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship award and Lion of the Year.  Wendell enjoyed curling, golfing, dominoes, puzzles, traveling, working, attending sporting events, and ice cream.  Most of all Wendell enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy; sons, James (Sandy) Hilton, Mike (Sandy) Hilton of Trempealeau, Keith Hilton of Broadlands, VA; daughters, Wendy (Mike) Miller of St Charles, MN; grand children, Jason (Missy), Brad (Summer) Tony (Lindsey), Amy (Doug), Ryan (Jenny), Sarah (Matt), Zach, Kelly (Shannon), Jon (Tara), and Liz; 18 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Mary) Hilton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Price and Edith Hilton; sister Phyllis (Robert) Edwall, and baby grand daughter.

The family would like to thank the Trempealeau First Responders, Tristate Ambulance, Med Link Air, and the staff at Gundersen Health System La Crosse.  The family also sends special thanks to Pastor Mike Hibbs of First Presbyterian Church in Galesville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 2, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville.  Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm Thursday, January 1, 2015 and from 1 pm until 2 pm Friday, January 1, also at the church.  In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to a charity of your choice.  Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home is assisting the family.
