Gerald (Jerry) Russell Modahl, 77, died April 9,2015 at Gundersen Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis., following a stroke.  Jerry was born in LaCrosse, Wisc on April 14, 1937, son of Joseph and Leolah Modahl.  He graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School, earned a BS in Physics at UW Madison, an MS in Education at LaCrosse State, and taught Junior High School.  Hunting, especially deer hunting, was his favorite activity. He also enjoyed team sports, gardening, astronomy, and music.  His cats were his special companions in his senior years. He is survived by his brother Bob (Bev) Modahl, sisters JoAnn Morrill, and Margy (Bill) Shaffer, and 12 nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Galesville, Wis., at 11:00AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015, with visitation one hour before the service.  Memorials may be directed to the Trempealeau County Humane Society. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
