Audrey Mae Strauss
Audrey Mae Strauss, 78, of Holmen, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2020 at Mayo Franciscan in La Crosse, WI.
She was born on June 16, 1941 to Ada and Lawrence Olson. She married Arlen “Ozzie” Strauss on February 21, 1959 in New Hampton, IA.
Audrey was a gifted artists and created many paintings in acrylic and watercolor portraits of her family in pastels. She was an active member of her beloved church, First Free Church. Audrey crocheted many sweaters, hats, and baby afghans for charity and family.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Ozzie; four sons, Charles, Daniel, Richard, and Edward; one daughter, Denise Schaufel; three sisters, Bettie Lombard, Ida Largo, and Rose Hjelseth; nine grandchildren, Holly, James, Amanda, Julie, Jaime, Lindsey, Nadine, Andrew, and Jordan; and eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Richard, Khloe, Sophie, Gregory, James, Melody, and Aubrey.
Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Christina; her parents, Ada and Lawrence Olson; and three brothers, Hallie, Gaylord, and Wm. Peter.
Audrey’s family would like to thank Audrey’s beloved friend, Bonnie Koglin, who was such a help and comfort to the grieving family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
I want to extend my sympathy to Audrey’s beloved family, she will truly be missed. I will miss , her faithfulness in attending First Free ….I have many good memories of the days she brought Christina, and being in the same Bible classes , etc. She was always friendly and kind. I thank God for her salvation and trust God’s promises will be of comfort for her family. She was a beautiful testimony of Gods love and grace. Blessed be the name of Audrey Strauss.
