Cheryl Lea Lockington
Cheryl L. Lockington, 52, of Mindoro, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Gundersen Health Systems, La Crosse. She was born on December 2, 1968 in Cresco, IA. To Leslie and Coleen (Mattheis) Zapotocny. Among Cheryl’s greatest loves in life were four wheeling, camping, sitting around a bonfire, and spending time with family and friends. Cheryl is survived by her husband Todd of Mindoro, son Korey Tewes of Eitzen, MN., mother and step-father Coleen and Virgil Busta of Cresco, IA., siblings Crystal Marroquin (Pablo) and their son Christopher of Reseda, CA., Jonelle Busta and her children Isaac, Carla and Amanda of Cresco, IA., step-grand-mother Mildred Mattheis of des Moines, IA., aunt Joan Bessingpas of Harmony, MN., Lacey (Darren) Block and her children Gavin and Amarriannah, Donita Lockington and her children Elijah, Zan and Massi, and grand-puppy Scar.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Leslie Zapotocny, maternal grandparents Duane and Christine Mattheis, paternal grandparents Frank and Minnie Zapotocny, paternal step-grandparents Alois and Christina Busta, uncles Denis, Richard and Steven Mattheis and Jon Bessingpas, father-in-law Donald Lockington, maternal and paternal grandparents in-law, brother-in-law Ronald Lockington, brother-in-law Michael Pellowski and granddaughter Pixie.
A Celebration of Life will be held from Noon to 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Melrose Rod and Gun Club, W13926 Rod and Gun Club Road, Melrose. Memorials are preferred.

I only knew Cheryl for a year, but she made quite an impression on me and was a big part of my life after meeting her. So shocked and saddened by her passing. You will be greatly missed, my friend.
