Obituary
Terri Lynn Larson
Terri Lynn Larson, 65, of Onalaska, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at her home. She was born October 17, 1956, to Allan and Carol Gauthier of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and married Dave Larson, her high school sweetheart, on June 14, 1980, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Terri was always on the move and preferred the great outdoors. She lived life fully with a vibrancy few can match. She especially enjoyed running and fitness — she competed in several races, often finishing first in her age group, ran two marathons and was a certified fitness instructor. She enjoyed gardening, hiking at Hixon Forest, biking the Great River State Trail, camping at Lake Neshonoc and boating on the Mississippi River. An animal lover, Terri always had her dog by her side.
When not outdoors, Terri spent her time reading and watching movies or her favorite TV shows. She delighted in a good story and was quite a prolific storyteller herself, always keeping everyone around her laughing and in good spirits. Terri had a passion for cooking, and cherished meals and holidays with her family. She was an avid gift giver and never missed an opportunity to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.
More than anything, Terri loved her family and was a proud mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and extended family at their cottage in Wautoma, Wisconsin, relaxing at Silver Lake, soaking up the sun and enjoying each other’s company at the nightly bonfire. In recent years, she most looked forward to traveling to Chicago and San Francisco to spend time with her beloved grandchildren.
Terri is survived by her husband, Dave Larson of Onalaska, Wisconsin, her two children and their spouses, Kristin (Gürkan) Çapkın of Burlingame, California, and Jared (Katie) Larson of River Forest, Illinois, and her grandchildren, Oya Çapkın, Jack Larson and Graham Larson. She is also survived by her five siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Carol Gauthier.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Terri at Mt Morris Holden Lutheran Church in Wautoma, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 23. Friends and family are invited to gather at 10:30 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the La Crosse Area Family YMCA (https://www.laxymca.org/

Dear Dave, Kristin, and Jared, and families,
Since hearing the news of Terri’s death, my mind has travelled back in time to when Dylan and Jared were best buds in preschool, and Pat, Dave, Terry and I played Sheepshead as often as once a week! Those were the Bunko Nights and Judy’s Gym years. Somehow, all that time went by in a blur, but the memories are with us still.❤️
Pat and I send our love to all of you.
