Lloyd Ronald Holthaus

Lloyd Ronald Holthaus, 89 years old, passed away on March 13, 2022 in La Crosse, WI.

Lloyd was born on September 15, 1932 in Onalaska to Fred and Nellie (Adams) Holthaus. He was the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Onalaska High in 1951 and entered the Navy for 2 years. He married Nancy Eeg and they later divorced.

Lloyd worked for Trane Co. as a Draftsman for 46 years until he retired in 1997.

He loved playing golf and was in a league at Pine Creek Golf Course through last year, and he looked forward to getting out to golf again this year. He was also a skilled carpenter, building his homes and many other beautiful pieces of work.

He later married Louella Howard, and she preceded him in death in 2017.

Lloyd loved watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and the Onalaska Hilltoppers, but he did not always enjoy what he saw and watched with a little bit of lip.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Debra Robinson, son Gregory Holthaus, step-daughter Vicki (John) Wilson, step-sons Rick (Kathy) Howard and Kelly Howard, 2 son-in-laws Tom Sweeny and Ross Williams. Grandchildren Amy Robinson, Matt Robinson, Jason Robinson, Nicholas Robinson, Payton Holthaus, Cody (Skylar) Sweeny, Andrew (Emily) Sweeny, Ryan Williams and Tyler Williams, step-grandchildren Kelsey (Brady) Sells and Joshua Wilson. 15 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his 2 daughters Susan Sweeny and Julie Williams, his wife Lou, his parents, brothers and sisters.

We would like to thank the thoughtful staff on the 6th floor of Gundersen-Lutheran Health System in La Crosse for their care of Dad.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 8, 2022 at Olivet Lutheran Church of La Crosse, WI. Pastor Luanne Sorenson will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will be held at the church following services.

Lloyd will be buried in Onalaska City Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of your choice.

Coulee Region Creation Group is assisting the family with arrangements.

    so very sorry to see of Lloyd’s passing, we were good friends when we lived in Onalaska, doing many things together. Marilyn was a classmate and enjoyed him as such. my prayer are with you in this time of grief, Sig Olson
